Mayan Train tour from Mérida

Travel on the emblematic Tren Maya and visit archaeological and natural wonders.

A full day that combines the two ways of seeing Yucatán: the Maya Train leg to Izamal and, from there, the classic route through Chichén Itzá, a cenote for swimming and Valladolid. We take the group from downtown Mérida to the station and pick everyone up when the train arrives, so there are no transfers to sort out on your own.

    38 min ride

    Transfer from downtown Mérida to the station. The train departs at 9:18 a.m. and the ride to Izamal takes about 38 minutes.

    The yellow magical town: free time for the San Antonio de Padua convent, the yellow streets and the ruin in the centre.

    Chichén Itzá

    One of the seven wonders of the modern world, with a guided tour of the archaeological site.

    Selva Maya cenote

    1 h lunch + 1 h cenote

    Before the cenote we stop at the restaurant, where the buffet lunch is included. Then free time to swim in an open cenote.

Good to know

  • On Sundays entry to archaeological sites is free for all Mexican nationals.
  • Monday to Saturday, holders of a student, teacher, retiree or INAPAM card also enter archaeological sites free of charge. The matching ID must be shown.
  • The included train ticket is one-way: the return leg is made in our own transport.

What time does the train leave?
The group boards at 9:18 a.m. at Teya station. We transfer from downtown Mérida well in advance, which is why the tour starts at 8:00 a.m.
Is the return trip also by train?
No. The included ticket is one-way: the return from Valladolid to Mérida is in our air-conditioned transport.
How do I book?
Choose the departure, message us on WhatsApp and confirm by paying at least 50% of the tour. The rest is settled on the day. You can also book in person at our office on Calle 61.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer, OXXO deposit or credit and debit card through a secure link. Nothing is charged on the website and no card details are requested here.
Where does the tour leave from?
From downtown Mérida. The exact spot and time are confirmed when you book, as they change with the route and the group that day.
Can I change the date?
We can reschedule at no extra cost if you let us know early enough and there is availability. No refunds are issued: see the full cancellation policy.
